Privacy Policy
Effective September 21, 2026
Daily Blurb is a private-group social app for sharing answers to daily prompts. This policy explains what information Daily Blurb collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. When you create or sign in to an email/password account, Firebase Authentication uses your email address and password to authenticate you.
- Profile information: Your display name and optional profile photo.
- User content: Daily answers, optional photos, comments, reactions, group names, memberships, and invitation codes.
- Safety information: Reports you submit, including the reported content and reason, and the accounts you choose to block.
- Activity information: Timestamps and information needed to provide answer ordering, streaks, points, and other in-app features.
- Optional city information: If you enable Blurb Map, the app uses your device location to identify your city, region, and country when you post. Precise coordinates are discarded and are not saved with your Blurb.
- Preferences stored on your device: Appearance, reminder, location-sharing, trivia, monthly-report, and birthday-question settings.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, operate private groups, display and synchronize content, provide app features, review safety reports, hide blocked accounts, protect the service, respond to support requests, and maintain account security.
Sharing and visibility
Your profile name, profile photo, answers, photos, comments, reactions, and any city label you choose to attach are visible to members of the relevant private group. Invitation codes can be used by a signed-in person to join the associated group, so share them only with people you want to invite.
We use Google Firebase to provide authentication, database, and file-storage infrastructure. Information may be processed by this service provider solely to operate Daily Blurb. We do not sell your personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can delete your account from Daily Blurb’s settings. Account deletion removes your profile, photos, answers, and group memberships, subject to limited retention where required for security, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.
Security
We use access controls and encrypted network connections designed to protect your information. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
Daily Blurb is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Daily Blurb changes. We will update the effective date on this page when we do.
